A Good Night’s Sleep

IMG_20190403_063807

Very early yesterday morning, after getting less than 3 hours of sleep (and waking up at 1 a.m.), I posted “Sleepless,” a short blog about how sleep disorders often go hand in hand with PTSD. What I did not mention, probably because I was too tired to write much, is that my combat veteran husband has a very rare non-24 hour sleep disorder. (Rare in sighted people, that is.)

But last night, we both got a good night’s sleep and woke up feeling refreshed early this morning — which is when I took the sunrise picture from our back porch.

A good night’s sleep is a wonderful blessing. Several people commented on my blog yesterday that they were praying about my insomnia. Thanks! I guess that because my husband and I are one person in the sight of the Lord, the prayers worked for both of us!

In my experience, sleeplessness and waking up in the middle of the night goes with loss of estrogen (aka aging!) I’m happy to hear you got a good night’s sleep!

Although I feel like I am still in my twenties — unless I exercise too much, ouch — my 66th birthday is coming up soon. I lost my estrogen a long time ago!
